WelcomeHave you ever had a desire to complete something? To learn something new and have this tangible thing you made, held in your hands. Something you can look at and be proud of what you did? Me too.
Throughout my professional career I have lunged into seemingly disparate learning opportunities and assignments trying to assuage this drive to create more. In this pursuit, I have been a teacher, trainer, manager, behavioralist, scheduler, and volunteer. To start my career, I earned a dual bachelors in psychology and interdisciplinary sociology and anthropology. Why the dual BA? The answer is simple, I did not want to waste my time on electives and I only took elective classes that supported another degree. All because I wanted to learn more so that I could create something. Even after earning a Masters in Secondary Education and a Masters in Business Administration I was still no closer to understanding why I needed to learn in order to make this intangible something. I have built a career in Talent Development where I have expertise in facilitation, leadership, and learning technology. I could go into all of the professional development activities and other things I did to learn and grow, but that can be found on most of my linkedin and it doesn’t change the story. Through all of the learning and all of the growth I have not been able to stop and yet I still did not figure out what it was that I was supposed to be making. Artists create works of art, scientists create solutions, and leaders build kingdoms. But what do I build? With this question looming over me, I have made a change in tactics. I have realized that everything I have completed so far has given me the building blocks to finally build that something. In order to put all of the pieces together I am going to learn from myself and share with others my works of art and my solutions. Maybe someday I will build a kingdom. You are reading this from my website where I have begun to curate the learning, facilitation, expertise, technology, and everything else I have created in the pursuit of learning to create something. Welcome to my journey. |
